GET TO KNOW
EAST TOWN GET DOWN
East Town Get Down is Calgary’s multi-venue music festival on International Avenue, celebrating its seventh year of bringing together music, food, and community in one unforgettable night.
Inspired by Calgary’s thriving independent music scene and the energy of renowned multi-venue festivals like South by Southwest, East Town Get Down transforms International Avenue into a vibrant cultural corridor. For one evening, audiences can explore live music performances across a walkable six-block district, discovering local venues, diverse cuisines, and emerging and established artists along the way.
More than just a music festival, East Town Get Down showcases the rich cultural fabric of Calgary’s southeast communities. Festival-goers can move between venues, experience multiple performances in a single night, and enjoy $5 sample food plates and special beverage offerings from local businesses and community partners.
Participating venues have included bowling alleys, restaurants, bars, cafés, and community gathering spaces representing the incredible diversity of International Avenue. Past host venues include Paradise Lanes, Bravo Latino Restaurant, Maanes Filipino Restaurant, Border Crossing Pub, Massawa Eritrean Restaurant & Bar, Kokonut Kove, Pacific Hut Filipino Cuisine, TG Juice, and Anh Tu Vietnamese Thai Restaurant.
East Town Get Down is a celebration of discovery, where great music, great food, and great people come together to highlight one of Calgary’s most unique and vibrant neighbourhoods. Whether you're catching your next favourite band, trying a new cuisine, or simply exploring International Avenue, every stop offers something new to experience.
